The bereaved family of Kim Jong-nam, the half-brother of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, who was assassinated six years ago, is said to be still searching for his belongings.

According to the US Free Asia Broadcasting (RFA) on the 1st, Deputy Commissioner Wan Kamarul Azran Wan Yusof of the Sepang Provincial Police Agency in Malaysia said in a phone call with RFA the day before, “As far as I know, no one has . come to this moment.” ) is discussed with the prosecution,” he said.

When asked what valuables he had, he replied, “I have different currencies, including dollars.”

Kim Jong-nam, who made a passport under the name ‘Kim Chul’ and traveled abroad, died in 2017 at Kuala Lumpur International Airport in Malaysia after an attack with a chemical weapon, the VX nerve agent. During the trial, the police testified that they found two cell phones, a laptop, and other items in Kim Jong-nam’s bag, along with cash worth 138,000 dollars (about 190 million won).

However, Deputy Commissioner Yusof replied “no” when asked if there were any laptops or mobile phones among the property. Huppyeong, a professor at the National University of Malaysia, told RFA, “From what I heard, there were a lot of discussions between Malaysia and North Korea at the time.”

On October 4 last year, the Malaysian police announced that Kim Jong-nam’s property would be returned to the Malaysian Ministry of Finance if the bereaved family did not come forward within six months. Kim Jong-nam’s survivors are known to include his first wife Shin Jeong-hee, his son Kim Geum-sol, his second wife Lee Hye-gyeong, and his siblings Han Sol and Sol-hee.
