Kim Seong-hyun, tied for 19th in their PGA Tour Debut


Kim Seong-hyeon (24) finished her debut match on the PGA Tour 2nd part in a joint 19th place.

Kim Seong-hyun cut four strokes in the final round of the Bahamas Great Exuma Classic (total prize money of $750,000), the opening match of the 2022 season of the Korn Ferry Tour held at Sandals Emerald Bay Golf Club (par 72) in the Bahamas on the 20th (Korean time) for the final total. He finished tied for 19th at a 4-under 284.

Kim Seong-hyun started off with a sluggish performance in the first round, 3 over par, and there was a high risk of missing the cut. However, following round 1 under par in round 2 and 2 under par in round 3, round 4 also completed a 4 under par with 1 eagle, 4 birdies, and 2 bogeys, raising the ranking to the mid-range. The gap with Aksai Batia (USA), who won the championship with a total of 14-under 274 strokes, was 10 strokes.

Kim Seong-hyun won the first qualifying round at the 2020 Korea Professional Golf (KPGA) Championship, and in July of last year, took the top spot at the Japan PGA Championship on the Japan Professional Golf Tour (JGTO). In May of last year, he hit 58 without a caddy in the final round of the JGTO Golf Partner Pro-Am Tournament.

Kim Seong-hyun went through a qualifying tournament to advance to the PGA Tour, and then moved to the Korn Ferry Tour in 2022.
