Comedians Kim Won-hyo and Shim Jin-hwa have made a statement regarding the so-called ‘Bundang kimbap restaurant group food poisoning controversy’. After the kimbap restaurant in question became known as a famous gimbap franchise, sparks also erupted in the couple who run some branches of the same company.

On the afternoon of the 6th, through their respective Instagrams, they said, “I’m sorry to the many people who love and care for XX Gimbap. As people who share XX Gimbap, we also offer our sincere apologies.”

He continued, “Some people ask about the relationship with a specific store, but right now, the recovery of those who are sick and affected comes first,” he said.

Earlier, Kim Won-hyo said in a phone call separate from an entertainment media in the morning of the same day, “It seems that there are people who my husband and I know as the (the franchise’s) representative, so it seems to have caused confusion.” There is no store,” he explained.

Meanwhile, at the two branches of the franchise in Bundang-gu, Seongnam-si, Gyeonggi-do, a total of 199 people had symptoms of food poisoning by 5:00 pm on the 5th.
