Thousands have been killed or injured in a conflict between Sudan’s warring parties that has lasted well over a month, and 1.4 million have been forced to flee.

Civilian damage is expected to increase as even the negotiations arranged through the mediation of neighboring countries are likely to be broken.

Reporter Ryu Jae-bok reports.

The nursery school, whose ceiling was dented by shells, is also dangerous to look at.

In the last six weeks, 60 children were sacrificed in this orphanage.

Shells are another terror for starving children.

Armed conflict between Sudanese government forces and rapid aid forces began on April 15th.

Civilian damage has increased as it has spread to urban areas such as Khartoum, the capital.

So far, 1,800 people have lost their lives and more than 5,000 have been injured.

1.4 million people fled their homes to escape the war, of which 350,000 fled across borders.

Negotiations between government forces and the rapid aid forces, which have been ongoing since the beginning of last month, have also been suspended.

Government forces suspended the ceasefire talks, saying that the rapid reinforcements did not keep their promise.

If the talks are broken, relief efforts, which have been limited, will become difficult, and the suffering of the Sudanese people will increase.
