Watch Eden Gardens and learn, let’s replace the water dam at Narendra Modi Stadium; Suggestion

Kolkata: The rain cover system at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, the venue for the final of the 16th season of the IPL, had come under heavy criticism. When the final was extended to a reserve day, it took hours for the stadium to dry after the rain on the second day. The criticism of the fans was that even the biggest stadium of the richest cricket board in the world does not have the necessary systems. Cricket Association of Bengal President Snehashish Ganguly points out that the facilities at Kolkata’s Eden Gardens in Ahmedabad should also be prepared.

‘The resumption of the game was delayed because the practice wickets on the side were soaked. Ahmedabad is a new stadium. Hopefully this issue will be resolved soon. If the ground is completely covered, there will be no problems. Hopefully all the issues will be resolved before the World Cup. If the earth can be completely covered like in the Gardens of Eden then all problems will be solved. Two years ago, Eden cost around Rs 80 lakh. Snehashish Ganguly told news agency PTI that if this is done, the field will have double security. Edenilek is the first cricket stadium in India to have a fully covered rain cover system. It was also one of the best stadiums for the IPL 2023 season.

In the 16th season of IPL, the final between Chennai Super Kings and Gujarat Titans was interrupted due to rain. CSK’s reply came after the start of batting, while heavy rain and wind disrupted the game, leading to a long delay in the start of the game due to waterlogged practice pitches. The fact that the ground staff had to work hard to collect water using sponges and buckets led to huge criticism. The game had to be shortened to 15 overs because of the rain.
