An assessment was made that press freedom in Korea has worsened over the past year.

According to the ‘2024 World Press Freedom Index’ report released by Reporters Without Borders, headquartered in Paris, France, on the 3rd local time, Korean press freedom was ranked 62nd, down 15 places from 47th last year. .

Reporters Without Borders evaluates the press freedom environment in 180 countries around the world and classifies it into five levels from ‘good’ to ‘very bad’, and Korea was placed in the third group, ‘problematic’, along with’ the United States and Japan.

North Korea was ranked 177, up three places from last year.
