Koyote Shinji’s Dream Trip Turns Into a Nightmare as Water Crisis Strikes

Koyote member Shinji is deeply disappointed by an unexpected water crisis that occurred during her anticipated backpacking trip. Her hopes for a smooth and uneventful journey have been jeopardized. The first episode of JTBC’s ‘Mungbun Returns – Koyote’s 25th Anniversary Trip’ reveals how Shinji, along with Koyote members Kim Jong-min and Baekga, embarked on their adventure in Chiang Mai, Thailand.

Upon their arrival in Chiang Mai, Kim Jong-min and Baek-ga showcase their carefree attitudes. It is anticipated that Shinji’s frustration will reach its peak due to their behavior, which she refers to as ‘gold teeth’. The Koyote members pay their first visit to the night market situated near their accommodation. Indulging themselves in a variety of delicacies, Kim Jong-min and Baek-ga eagerly give in to temptation and order the mouth-watering crepes, despite initially claiming they would only observe. Kim Jong-min, known for his voracious appetite, impressively demonstrates his mukbang skills by devouring the hot crepes with great gusto.

In contrast, Shinji is perturbed by the antics of her fellow members. The tension rises when she brings up their behavior, resulting in a dispute. An exasperated Shinji exclaims, “I didn’t drink enough water today,” to which Kim Jong-min nonchalantly responds, “Drink water when you’re thirsty.” In frustration, Shinji retorts, “You’re drinking because you’re thirsty!” Baekga interjects with a lighthearted joke, diffusing the situation and averting a potential crisis.

Upon entering their assigned accommodation, the Koyote members are awestruck by the traditional Thai house and the array of welcome fruits prepared for them. Kim Jong-min, known for his penchant for food, once again indulges himself, showcasing his insatiable appetite. Meanwhile, Shinji, who had hoped for a smooth journey without any complications, finds her plans thwarted from the very beginning. The unexpected flooding in their dorm catches her off guard, leading her to exclaim, “Oh my God! It’s a flood.” The cause of the flood and its implications for Shinji’s experience remain to be seen.

In the first episode of JTBC’s ‘Mungbun Returns – Koyote’s 25th Anniversary Trip’ (designed by Seong Chi-gyeong / director Jin Dal-rae / writer Mo Eun-seol, hereinafter referred to as ‘Mongbun Returns’), and will be broadcast for the first time on the 4th, Koyote Kim Jong-min, Shinji and Baekga’s first day of their backpacking trip in Chiang Mai, Thailand is revealed.

After arriving in Chiang Mai, Thailand, Kim Jong-min and Baek-ga show their ‘gold teeth’ attitudes in earnest. Expectations are high when it is said that Shinji’s ‘Mami’ anger will explode without stopping because of the two ‘gold teeth’ that cannot stop him.

Koyote members visit the night market near the accommodation for the first time. ‘Golden side’ Kim Jong-min and Baek-ga start rampaging like fish in water with different foods. On the other hand, Shinji, who brought out the two ‘gold teeth’, bursts over with the two arguing. When the upset Shinji said, “I didn’t drink enough water today,” Kim Jong-min said, “You should drink water when you’re thirsty.” Angrily, Shinji shouts, “You’re drinking because you’re thirsty!”, and Baekga hastily jokes, “I’m glad it’s because I’m thirsty, not irritated,” and escapes the crisis.

After entering the accommodation assigned by Baekga, the ‘BackGuide’, Koyote members’ mouths drop to the ancient scenes of a traditional Thai house. Seeing the welcome fruit being prepared here, Kim Jong-min activates the ‘Muk Booster’ once again. While Shinji and Baekga stop eating unknown fruits they have never seen before, Kim Jong-min shows the dignity of ‘Muk Jong-min’ by performing a mukbang storm alone.

On the other hand, on this day, Shinji is dreaming of a ‘no story’ trip that he hopes this trip will go smoothly. However, his plan faces a crisis from day one. There was a sudden flood in the dorm, and Shinji, who was hit by the water out of nowhere, shouted, “Oh my God! It’s a flood.” I wonder what will be the reason for the flood in their dorm and what will be the fate of Shinji growing up.
