The Government of Kosovo announced that during a regular meeting with the ambassadors of the USA, Great Britain, France, Germany, Italy and with the head of the EU office in Kosovo, “in order to inform, discuss and coordinate on various current topics, among the main topics was the CBK Rulebook on currency which is valid in Kosovo”, they writeNews

“Among the main topics of discussion was that of the Rulebook of the Central Bank, which is expected to enter into force on February 1, with special reference to its Article 35, which defines that the euro is the only currency allowed for carrying out cash payments and in the payment system in the Republic of Kosovo is, in accordance with Article 11 of the Constitution of the Republic of Kosovo and the Law on the Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo”, says the announcement, reports Beta.

At the meeting, Kurti “stressed the importance of respecting constitutionality and legality; by all and at the same time respect for independent authorities, in this case the Central Bank of Kosovo”.
