Today, Acting Party Leader Kwon Seong-dong, the People’s Power, delivered a speech by the representative of the National Assembly negotiation group.

He emphasized the responsibility of the Moon Jae-in government to the fore, saying that the current economic crisis is due to the former government.

He also said that he would abolish submissive diplomacy with North Korea and strictly enforce illegal strikes by strong labor unions.

Kwon Seong-dong, acting leader of the People’s Power Party, bowed his head, saying that he felt the responsibility as the ruling ruling party for internal party issues, including representative disciplinary action, and delays in the normalization of the National Assembly.

However, he immediately aimed at the Moon Jae-in administration, saying, “Who’s legacy is the crisis for people’s livelihood?”

The economic crisis was attributed to the Moon administration’s ‘income-led growth policy’, the people’s livelihood crisis to ‘real estate measures’ and the electricity rate hike was due to the ‘non-nuclear energy policy’.

“Politics has been holding back the economy for the entire five years of the Moon Jae-in administration. We have prioritized our immediate political interests over national interests and the people.”

He also claimed that the Moon Jae-in administration blindly trusted the words of North Korea in the case of the murder of an official of the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries and the repatriation of North Korean fishermen to North Korea, and that it was incompetent in security.

“What did you do this to hide? Is it the brutality of North Korea, or the incompetence of the Moon Jae-in government? Or both?”

Acting Kwon, who put ‘stabilizing people’s livelihood’ as the main task of the ruling party, promised measures to stabilize prices, such as extending the fuel tax cut until the end of the year and raising the tax-free limit on meals for office workers.

He also emphasized the easing of regulations on companies and the labor market, such as lowering corporate taxes and reviewing the 52-hour workweek.

“The indiscriminate application of the 52-hour workweek is not suitable for the era of the 4th industrial revolution.”

He compared the KCTU to a gangster and foretold a tough response, saying, “The illegal acts of the strong union should be strictly enforced.”

Regarding Acting Kwon’s speech, the Democratic Party criticized it as “It was a very embarrassing scene of blaming others for one’s own incompetence” and “It was a speech devoted only to hiding the troubles in state affairs by beating the Moon Jae-in government all the time.”

[박홍근/더불어민주당 원내대표]

“It is the people’s real desire to show new achievements as the ruling party and the government, not just blaming the former government and the Democratic Party…”

After today’s speeches by representatives of negotiating groups, the ruling and opposition parties will begin asking questions about the government, starting with politics, diplomacy, unification, and security from next week.
