Rep. Kwon Young-se, from the People’s Power, was nominated as the first unification minister under the Yun Seok-yeol administration. Park Jin, a member of the People’s Power, will be nominated as the foreign minister candidate.

President-elect Yoon Seok-yeol will announce the second appointment of the first cabinet, including the above, at 2 pm on the 13th.

Rep. Kwon was a four-term member of the National Assembly and served as ambassador to China under the Park Geun-hye administration. In this presidential election, he took the lead in the election campaign as he served as the head of the election task force.

Rep. Park, a former public official of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, entered the political arena in 2001 as a special advisor to the president of the Grand National Party (predecessor to the People’s Power). He is regarded as one of the representative ‘Americans’ within the party, and he recently visited the US for 7 nights and 8 days as President-elect Yoon’s representative for Korea-US policy consultations.
