Large carbon face improves straightness and ease of flight Tailor-made stealth driver | New product report | GDO Golf Gear Information

[Hossy]
We introduced three types of drivers as a preliminary report on the announcement date (12th) of the tailor-made “Stealth” series, but from this time we will dig deeper into each model. The “Stealth Driver” is a model that is positioned as the standard performance among the three types. It is the successor model to the “SIM2 MAX Driver” which was released in 2021 and became a big hit.

To recap, the stealth series uses a carbon face, which is 44% lighter than previous titanium faces. According to tailor-made materials, the impact efficiency can be improved by reducing the face weight. As you can see at first glance, the face area is also larger due to the weight reduction.

The head shape has not changed much from the “SIM” and “SIM2” series. A pear-shaped head shape with volume on the toe side of the head as before. However, in the stealth series, the carbon crown is painted in matt black, and only the surrounding titanium part is painted in glossy black, giving the impression that it is tighter overall than before.

The top surface is black, but thanks to the red face surface, it is easy to be aware of the face orientation. The contrast between red and black makes the loft look good and gives you a sense of security. The goodness of the head and the orientation of the face are the same as before. Very easy to hold!

[Hossy]
When I hit it, it felt really good! First of all, the feel is so good that you can’t think of it as a carbon face. You can feel the ball coming off quickly, but at the same time you can feel the softness. Also, compared to the “SIM MAX driver” I use, backspin and side spin were suppressed. It has improved straightness and is easy to fly with low spin.

The hitting sound and feel are very similar to the SIM2 series, and there is no feeling of hitting with a carbon face. It is a level that you will not notice unless you know it in advance. As Hossy says, the amount of spin is less than the previous work “SIM2 MAX”, and my impression is about the same as “SIM MAX”. However, since “Stealth” has a large face area, I felt that it would be easier to hit a lower spin by hitting the upper eye of the face.

The standard shaft “TENSEI RED TM50 (’22)” also had a solid feel and felt good. I want to buy a new one with the specifications of this trial hit club!

When I hit it, I felt that the hand side was a little stiff and medium tone. I think it’s similar to the custom shaft “Diamana TB” that Hossy uses in his ace driver. It has a higher rigidity than the conventional standard shaft, and it seems that the Flex S can be used by athlete type golfers without feeling unreliable. “Stealth” is a hot topic with its carbon face, and there should be many golfers like Hossy who actually try it out and get a good feeling. This will be the number one sales in 2022 ~.
