Last night was heartbreaking; But … Rishabh Pant with a note on Delhi’s defeat

As they finish as table toppers in the 14th season of the IPL, Delhi Capitals and skipper Rishabh Pant may have to contend with their desire to win their first IPL title.

But in the play-offs, Delhi lost to second-placed Chennai in the first qualifier and fourth-placed Kolkata in the second qualifier.

Captain Rishabh Pant has come up with an emotional note on the team’s defeat.

“Last night was heartbreaking, but I’m proud to be able to lead these fighters,” the ball tweeted. “We played well throughout the season, but some days it was not ours but we tried 100 per cent of our ability,” he added.

The ball thanked the fans, team management, owners and support staff for supporting Delhi.

Rishabh Pant to take over Delhi captaincy after Delhi Capitals captain Shreyas Iyer was injured in the first quarter of the IPL. Later in the second quarter in the UAE, Shreyas Iyer returned from injury but continued to captain the ball.
