Lee Jun-seok, former leader of the People Power Party, uttered an insult against MP Ahn Cheol-soo of the same party in a YouTube broadcast on the 20th. When the controversy arose, former CEO Lee publicly apologized to delay with representative Ahn.

Former CEO Lee appeared as a speaker on JTBC’s YouTube channel “Genreman Yeouido”, which was broadcast live that day. At the end of the broadcast, the host presented four examples to former CEO Lee, asking: “Who really shouldn’t be involved in politics?” Among the examples, former Rep. Lee singled out “a person who was loudly swearing at a man in a bokguk restaurant and was told to ‘shut up,’” which alludes to Rep. Ahn.

That’s a reference to a war of nerves between Rep. Ahn and former Rep. Lee last month at a restaurant on the other side of a partition. At the time, former Rep. Lee is said to have said loudly, “Mr. Ahn Cheol-soo, let’s eat, please be quiet” when Rep. Ahn spoke behind him. Rep. Ahn reportedly continued speaking, saying, “There’s nothing I can’t say.”

Former Representative Lee said on the broadcast: “(Representative Ahn) has no morals” and pointed out: “Many people are eating in a restaurant and he makes a loud noise even though he knows the partitions are not placed correctly.” As for Rep. Ahn’s voice, he also said, “Doesn’t it buzz?” In response to the host’s question, “Can’t anyone talk behind anyone’s back?”, former Rep. Lee imitated Rep. Ahn’s voice and said, “‘Lee Jun-seok…’ “Will you skip the meal? “This XX…” he said.

As the controversy intensified, former CEO Lee posted on his Facebook page on the afternoon of the 20th: “In today’s broadcast, while replaying the anecdote that happened at Bokguk restaurant with MP Ahn Cheol-soo and explaining the reaction on the spot , the expression “XX” was included. I feel sorry for Rep. Ahn. “It was my carelessness and imprudence,” he said, and he apologized, saying: “I will be more careful during the broadcast.” The scene in question has now been deleted from the YouTube video.
