Through Entertainment Weekly ‘Around the Table’, DiCaprio revealed the story of how these puppies fell into a river at the filming site. Seeing the puppy drowning in the cold water, DiCaprio did not hesitate to jump into the river.

Jennifer Lawrence at the time also witnessed the scene.

“Both puppies fell into the cold river.” DiCaprio’s words.

According to People, Lawrence said, “A dog first fell into a cold river. DiCaprio then jumped right into the water and rescued the puppy.”

“As soon as DiCaprio rescued the dog and came out of the river, another dog jumped into the river.”

DiCaprio said, “First, we rescued a puppy and another puppy came to lick it. In the end, the dog also fell into the water, and me and the two dogs fell into a cold river.”

“The dogs who experienced only the warm water in Southern California but experienced the cold river water for the first time were surprised,” DiCaprio said.

“I know everyone is wondering what DiCaprio would have done after he rescued the puppy from the river,” Lawrence said.

“DiCaprio went straight to the car, took off all his clothes and dried himself.”
