Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor praised Deng Bingqiang, revealing that since the announcement of the “Northern Metropolitan Area Development Strategy” in October last year, when the government was discussing the division of labor for 45 action items, Deng Bingqiang accepted the task of gradually opening Sha Tau Kok Pier for tourism activities. He also led the team to do a lot of preparatory work, including contacting the tourism, rural, transportation, construction and other units belonging to other policy bureaus, designing sightseeing itineraries, and beautifying the environment around the wharf.
Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor also described that Deng Bingqiang made every effort to plan the opening of the Sha Tau Kok Pier and showed his promising spirit. He also said that if Deng Bingqiang only considered from the perspective of security, he would definitely not approve of opening the restricted area and taking risks.
