Lokayukta Hearing in Relief Case Adjourned due to Funeral of Former Chief Minister Oommen Chandy

The Lokayukta hearing in the relief case has once again been adjourned, this time at the request of the complainant. The complainant approached the Lokayukta, explaining that the senior advocate representing him needed to attend the funeral of Oommen Chandy. Furthermore, the complainant informed the court that their petition against the formation of the full bench is pending in the High Court, and for this reason, they sought a change in the case proceedings.

The Lokayukta criticized the previous request to change the consideration of the case, emphasizing that the funeral rites of former Chief Minister Oommen Chandy had been scheduled well in advance. The Lokayukta also noted that the application should have been submitted at least one day prior to the hearing. A government advocate, Pathiripilly Krishnakumari, assured that they were ready to proceed with the case. The case is being reviewed by Lokayukta Justice Cyriak Joseph, Deputy Lokayukta Haroon Al Rasheed, and Babu Mathew P Joseph. The hearing has been adjourned until August 7th.
