Actors Namgoong Min and Ahn Eun-jin Express Excitement for ‘Lovers Part 2’

In the recently aired MBC drama ‘Lovers Part 1 – Rewind Film,’ actors Namgoong Min and Ahn Eun-jin shared their high hopes for the upcoming ‘Lovers Part 2’.
The episode showcased heartfelt stories of the production team and actors who had worked together for three seasons, spanning from winter 2022 to spring and summer 2023. Viewers were also treated to exclusive behind-the-scenes footage from the filming location.
Author Hwang Jin-young expressed his thoughts on the show, stating, “I have been fascinated by the Donghak People’s Movement, the April 3rd Jeju Uprising, and the stories of Manchu War prisoners for about five years now. Through ‘Lovers,’ I aimed to explore the choices that humans make in extreme situations and the consequences that follow. I believe there are numerous untold stories in history where individuals were unjustly labeled as criminals due to their circumstances and inevitable actions.”
Director Kim Seong-yong further discussed the drama, stating, “Based on the Manchu War, ‘Lovers’ offers viewers a glimpse into the lives and concerns of people during that era. Throughout the production, I had numerous meetings with the staff and gathered various ideas to ensure an enjoyable viewing experience. I put great thought and effort into every scene to captivate the audience.”
Ahn Eun-jin complimented Director Kim’s unwavering energy on set, stating, “Despite occasional hardships, the director’s passion and commitment never waver. This dedication ignites the same focus and determination within the actors and staff.” Director Kim Seong-yong added, “I firmly believe that the actors and crew members perform their best when they feel the director’s intense yet powerful energy.”
Namgoong Min, who portrays Lee Jang-hyun in the drama, praised Ahn Eun-jin’s acting skills and their onscreen chemistry, stating, “I admire their dedication and concentration. Since this is a melodrama, building a strong chemistry with the co-star is crucial. I believe we effectively conveyed our emotions to one another during the filming process.
