Lucid Group delivered 3,806 electric vehicles and produced 2,954 vehicles during the third quarter ending September 30, 2026, marking a 6.7% decrease in year-over-year deliveries as the company curtailed factory output to align with slower customer demand. CNBC reported that the U.S. automaker, backed by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund, saw production decline from the 3,891 vehicles produced in the third quarter of 2025.
Third-Quarter Deliveries Outpace Factory Output
ECMSource reported that quarterly deliveries exceeded factory output by 852 units during the third quarter as the company deliberately liquidated existing finished vehicle inventory. That inventory drawdown successfully reversed the build from the second quarter of 2026, when factory output exceeded deliveries by 821 units according to SEC Form 8-K regulatory filings.
Vehicle manufacturing fell 38.1% sequentially from 4,774 units produced in the second quarter to 2,954 units in the third quarter. ECMSource noted that this decrease reflects the elimination of a second assembly shift at the AMP-1 manufacturing facility in Casa Grande, Arizona.
The Operational Reset Targets Cash Flow Improvements
The production cuts form part of an operational reset under Chief Executive Officer Silvio Napoli, who began leading the automaker in June. CNBC reported that the turnaround plan aims to identify $1.4 billion in cash flow improvement opportunities during the fiscal year.

Management’s cash flow targets include approximately $600 million to $800 million in vehicle inventory reductions, $500 million in capital expenditures, and $200 million in operating expenses. ECMSource reported that Lucid is prioritizing working capital optimization and balance-sheet liquidity over nominal unit growth by synchronizing plant cadence directly with real-time end-market demand.
Lucid Shares Fall over 60% This Year
Shares of Lucid closed up less than 1% at $4.17 on the day of the delivery announcement and remained little changed in extended trading. CNBC noted that the stock has fallen more than 60% over the course of the year.
Lucid scheduled the release of its full financial results for the third quarter on November 9, 2026, after markets close. While production through the first three quarters of 2026 remains 33% higher than a year earlier, the extent to which the inventory drawdown and operational reset will improve the company’s cash burn remains unconfirmed ahead of the November earnings disclosure.
