Ernakulam: Film director Raman Ashok Kumar (60) passed away. He died in a private hospital in Kochi. He is a native of Varkala.
He is famous in the field of film direction with the name Ashokan, and is also an IT entrepreneur
Mookilla Rajyath was a blockbuster hit released by the Asokan-Taha collaboration. Varnam and Acharya are the films released under Ashoka’s direction. He worked as a co-director for about 100 films with Sasikumar. After marriage, Ashokan moved to Singapore with his relatives and turned to business.
He settled there and focused on business. He came from Singapore and died while receiving treatment here. He has also directed the telefilm Kanappuramun. It won the State Government Award for Best Telefilm of the Year. Wife: Sita. Daughter: Abhirami
