As soon as the military entered the room, they found the guest lifeless. Beside him there was a suitcase with his belongings and also a receipt from Caixa Econômica Federal to withdraw the prize money. The officers did not release the identity of the man and only said that he was 54 years old.

′′ We arrived at the scene and he was already lifeless. By all indications, it would be a natural death, because there were no marks of violence. He is a resident of the interior of the state and had a paper to withdraw the money, but he had not yet done so, “said soldier Bazani.

The Scientific Police of Paraná and the Civil Police (PC) were called to the scene. An expertise was carried out throughout the room and the ticket, as well as other belongings, were collected and must undergo a new expertise next Monday (6) at the Legal Medical Institute (IML).

In a note, the Civil Police stated that it opened an inquiry to investigate the case and has been taking steps to clarify the fact. “At first, the cause of death was a heart attack. The PCPR awaits expert reports that will assist in the progress of the diligences”, informed the body.

Delegate Magda Hofstaetter of the Homicide and Personal Protection Division (DHPP) clarified that only after the autopsy report has been submitted will it be possible to determine whether or not the victim died of natural causes, or even poisoning.

“I am waiting for the release of the report that will indicate the causes of death to find out if the case remains with me or if it goes to another police station. It is still too risky for us to point out what happened at the scene and with the victim, we will wait for the results to speak”, said Hofstaetter.
