Maple Story Announces First-Come, First-Served Event to Celebrate Release of Remastered Swoo

To commemorate the release of Remastered Swoo, a first-come, first-served event is starting. Game effects, medals and 1 million Maple Points will be awarded as prizes to the first 100 users to beat the extreme difficulty Suu in a group of one (single shot).

On the 11th, Nexon conducted a live broadcast on Maple Story’s official YouTube channel. Director Kim Chang-seop appeared on the broadcast and shared future updates.

A detailed look at the remastered version of Suu has been revealed. Before giving a full explanation, director Kim revealed the reason for the Boss remaster. He said: “The boss content is the key final content at the end of the battle” and “It should be reasonable and fun to attack. I wanted to avoid elements of luck or ways of dealing with damage.”

Director Kim said, “Suu had many irrational parts as the falling pattern had no logic. There was a tendency to rely on luck rather than breaking the pattern or overcoming it”, and said this was the reason for choosing Suu as the first remaster of the boss.

Extreme Swoo is designed so that users who can challenge normal Kalos and Karings can do so easily. Director Kim said: “After the sixth round, the spectrum of normal and healing Kalos challenges has broadened. I wanted to provide a differentiated challenging experience to users at the top of this spectrum.”

– They say they wanted to give the feeling of fighting against the very space called Black Heaven.

It is said that the remastered version of Suu was intended to offer the experience of fighting Black Heaven itself. It was designed with the concept of a melee taking place in Black Heaven, a fortress in the sky, rather than a one-on-one battle with Suu. In addition to Suu’s unique models, various map models are added.

Director Kim said the key point of the strategy was “positioning, or directing or responding to various attacks towards a specific location.” He added: “Until now, only the positions of the two objectives, the user and the boss, were considered, but Remastered Sue takes into account the positions of the various elements: “I do,” he stressed.

Extreme Swoo is a group challenge for up to 2 people, not 6. Director Kim said he set it to 2 players instead of 6 because it was designed so that users who can challenge normal Kalos and Karing can do so with 2 players .

Extreme difficulty adds a permanent “Fully Under Control” heart. This is a new set of jet black boss gear with a level 200 heart and a fixed option of “Ignore monster defense +30%”. New clear results are also added.

With the release of Remastered Swoo, a new first-come, first-served event will be held. The first 100 people to eliminate Extreme Nando Suu in an individual party (one-shot) will receive the “Black Paradise Opponent” medal and cape effect. 1 million Maple Points will be paid as compensation.

For reasons of fairness, the start is scheduled for the 18th at 7.00 pm. If behavior is detected that violates operational policy, as was the case during the Punch King event, all rewards will be forfeited. To avoid substitutions, only green PCs can enter.

As a general event, the “Suu Acrylic Stand” will be awarded to 3,000 users who defeat Suu on the hard difficulty setting or higher during the event period. Director Kim said that he hopes that many users will like the reborn Suu.

Furthermore, various improvements in terms of convenience are applied. If the acquisition time is different, temporary items occupying different inventories can be combined within the acquisition date, and an option to immediately combine the selected symbol with the symbol is added.
