Beloved Latvian singer Marija Naumova invites audiences to celebrate the magic of Christmas with her special holiday concert, “Gavilējiet, Zvaigznes!”
The concert will take place on December 25th at 7:00 PM in Liepāja’s “Lielais dzintars” concert hall and on December 26th at 4:00 PM in Ventspils’ “Latvija” concert hall.
“Tonight,quietly,quietly,the heavens open their gates,” the lyrics from the concert’s titular song,”Gavilējiet,Zvaigznes!” by composer Niks Matvejevs,beautifully capture the spirit of the season.The song speaks to the transformative power of Christmas,encouraging reflection and hope.
Music has always been a source of comfort and inspiration, and Naumova’s concert promises to deliver just that.
Audiences can expect a heartwarming program featuring beloved classics by Latvian composers Raimonds Pauls, Imants Kalniņš, and Jānis Lūsēns, alongside lesser-known gems by Niks Matvejevs, Uldis Marhilevičs, and Ingus Feldmaņš. The concert will also showcase songs from Naumova’s latest album,”Uz ilūziju tilta,” and new original compositions.
Joining Naumova on stage will be a talented ensemble of musicians: rolands Beļēvičs on keyboards, Norberts Skraucis on bass, Ingus Feldmanis on guitar, Andris Buiķis on drums, Līga robežniece providing backing vocals, and Jegors Kovaikovs on guitar.

Marija Naumova: I carefully curated the program to offer a mix of familiar favorites from Latvian composers like Raimonds Pauls, Imants kalniņš, and Jānis Lūsēns, while also introducing audiences to some hidden treasures by composers like Niks Matvejevs, Uldis Marhilevičs, and Ingus Feldmaņš. I think it’s important to honor the classics while also showcasing the beauty and diversity of Latvian musical talent. Of course,we’ll also be performing songs from my latest album,”Uz ilūziju tilta,” and some new original compositions that I’m very excited to share with the audience.
