Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Facebook’s parent company Meta, who visited Korea for the first time in 10 years, had lunch with Samsung Electronics Chairman Lee Jae-yong at Seungjiwon, the hotel of the Samsung Group.

At the meeting, the two are said to have discussed cooperation plans related to AI semiconductor businesses and XR businesses.

Previously, CEO Zuckerberg met with LG Electronics President Jo Joo-wan and others at the Twin Towers in Yeouido and discussed ways to strengthen the ‘augmented reality and XR alliance’.

Meta entered the XR device market in 2014 and is competing with Apple for the XR device market, including the launch of its latest MR headset, ‘Quest 3’, late last year.
