Renowned British documentary photographer Martin Parr died at his home in Bristol, England, on December 6, 2024, according to a statement released by The Martin Parr Foundation. He was 73 years old.
Parr was internationally recognized for his vibrant, often saturated color photography, capturing the quirks and humor of everyday life. “It is with great sadness that we announce that Martin Parr (1952-2024) died yesterday at home in Bristol,” the foundation stated on its website. parr is survived by his wife, Susie; his daughter, Ellen; his sister, Vivien; and his grandson, George.
The family has requested privacy during this time. The Martin Parr Foundation and magnum Photos, the prestigious photographic agency of which Parr was a member since 1994, will collaborate to preserve and promote his artistic legacy.
