Mastering Palace Quests in Dragon’s Dogma 2: Tips and Tricks for Success

The life of the protagonist “Awakened” in Capcom’s new action role-playing game “Dragon’s Dogma 2” is fun, but difficult. This is because the research must be completed with limited information and experience. In particular, he often gets blocked in the early palace missions. We have collected information about palace quests that will help you have a comfortable trip.

■ If you get lost during the mission, go to Bernworth’s “Insight”.

If you don’t know which mission to do first, go to Ursula at Bernworth’s Insight Center and have your future told. She tells you what to do now.

Also, if you get stuck in an ongoing mission, you can go to the Insight Center and it will give you the answer. For example, when looking for Ulrika, who escaped during the “Disaster Coming” mission, if you ask the Insight Officer, she will tell you to go to the “Have” village. Tonggyeongwan is located on the right side of the road, facing the cornerstone of Bernworth Return Road.

For questions about missions, contact Bernworth Insight Center.

■ Running paralysis

The two-handed sword and staff needed for “Paralysis”, a quest to unlock Warrior and Warlock advancement, can be obtained from the Trevor Mine, northwest of Bernworth. If you unknowingly sold it to a shop, you can get it from Celeste’s weapon shop in the Gateway Post Village.

The way station village can be reached by taking the ox cart at the western entrance to Bernworth. When riding an oxcart, you can move quickly by closing your eyes (Y or C). For reference, the Ibrahim Luxury Store in the Gateway Post Village sells the prisoner mask needed to infiltrate Batal.

■ Audience jacket, trousers

There are two main ways to get the audience jacket and trousers. You can buy it for a lot of money in a shop, complete the relationship quest brought by a decorative box, and finally get it from a hidden box in a building inside the Bernworth Palace.

It can be obtained from two buildings in Bernworth Castle, but the location we will feature is inside the ballroom, which is great for linking to quests.

The internal structure of the ballroom building, where balls are held at Bernworth Castle, consists of a central hall and corridors surrounding it. Let’s move to the outside corridor instead of inside the ballroom.

There is a hidden box in the room on the right down the hall. If you search in the box, you can get the audience’s jacket and pants. It is a good idea to proceed with the mission The King’s False Plan together.

You can get the Audience Jacket and Pants from the map location on the right. Jump down from the balcony and enter to proceed with the search.

■ The plan of the false king

In the ballroom I’ve packed the audience’s jacket and trousers and found the secret door between the back rooms, but there are times when I can’t proceed any further. If it’s past ball time, you can exit the building, move towards the castle walls on the right, and jump down onto the balcony of the nearby building. When you move towards the mission sign, a cutscene plays and the mission progresses.

■ Where is Malcolm

In the Praetor’s Protection quest, when you meet Praetor Valdemar in the dungeon, he asks you to find a place to replenish his knowledge. When you meet Bernd at the tavern, he advises you to go to the House of Salvation located within Bernworth.

There is an orphanage, Guwon House, at 5 in the shopping area centered on the inn. When you meet Kendrick, the director of the orphanage, he asks you to find the missing boy “Malcolm”.

You can get information on Malcolm’s location by talking to a girl inside the Salvation House building and two guys outside the building. Talk to Kendrick again and head to the basement of Salvation House.

Please note that during the first encounter with Praetor Valdemar, if you do not talk to the NPC who appears to be a guard at the front gate or enter through the back gate, the mission will not proceed.

■ Disturbing contact

In the mission Disturbing Contact, Harold’s private room is located on the second floor of Bernworth Castle. When you enter the throne room of Bernworth Castle, proceed down the left corridor, then up the stairs and then near the quest marker to trigger a cutscene. There is a secret door on the left wall of the room and you can open it to enter.

■ Shadow approaching the awakened person

The quest for the shadow approaching the awakened is one of the quests that is difficult to know how to proceed with at first. If you take a walk around the Bernworth Inn, you can see an NPC running fast. At this point, dash closer and use the grapple (RT or E) to subdue the NPC.

If you choose “I’m not going to watch” between the two options, an argument will occur. If the NPC dies at this time, the mission will not continue. If an NPC dies, you must find the dragon’s heartbeat and use it to revive it. It is necessary to hit them hard enough so as not to kill them, but there are cases when the pawns use excessive violence, so it is advisable to ask for a reward.

If you deal too much damage this way, you will die. Must be revived with the dragon’s heartbeat.
