Microsoft Releases Windows 11 2023 Update (Version 23H2) with New Features and Enhanced Compatibility

Microsoft has unveiled its latest update for Windows 11, known as the “Windows 11 Update 2023” (version 23H2), which was made available to the public on October 31st. This update will be rolled out gradually to non-Windows Insider Program members.

This new release, “Windows 11 version 23H2,” marks the second major update for Windows 11 this year. While it shares the same code base and service branch as “version 22H2,” new features are implemented through an “enable package” (eKB). This means that upgrading from “version 22H2” can be completed within minutes, whereas upgrading from “version 21H2” takes longer as it involves replacing the entire operating system. Over 150 new features are included in this update, such as the newly introduced Copilot in Windows, which was already available in some 22H2 environments.

Specifically for “Version 23H2,” changes include the replacement of the taskbar chat function with the free version of Microsoft Teams. This pinned version of Teams on the taskbar provides users with the ability to chat, make audio calls, and participate in video meetings with friends at the click of a button. A mini mode, reminiscent of the old chat feature, is also available. Additionally, users can now enjoy gaming sessions with family and friends through the Xbox Game Bar.

It is worth noting that the service period for “Version 23H2” is 24 months for the Home/Pro edition and 36 months for the Enterprise/Education edition.

The upgrade offer will be expanded gradually, so it may take some time for users to become eligible. Interested users can navigate to the Update & Security > Windows Update page in the Settings app, enable the “Get the latest updates as soon as they’re available” option, and manually select the “Gwirio” button. If the device is eligible for an upgrade, users will receive a prompt to download and install the “Feature Update for Windows 11, Version 23H2.”

Updates are downloaded in the background, and users have the freedom to choose when to install them and restart their operating system. Rest assured, updates will not be enforced without permission.

Should the prompt not appear, it’s possible that “Version 23H2” has not yet been deployed to the device or has been excluded from distribution due to known compatibility issues. Users can wait and check again later. Alternatively, those who can’t wait can opt for an upgrade using an installation assistant, a media creation tool, or an ISO image file. However, it is important to note that downloading the entire operating system may require some time.

Overall, Microsoft’s release of the “Windows 11 Update 2023” brings new and improved features to users, enhancing their Windows 11 experience.

On October 31st (local time), Microsoft released a new feature update for Windows 11, “Windows 11 Update 2023” (version 23H2), to the public. It will also be rolled out in stages to general users who are not members of the Windows Insider Program.

“Windows 11 version 23H2” is the second large-scale annual update for “Windows 11″. Therefore, updating from “version 22H2” can be completed in a few minutes (updating from “version 21H2” takes time because it involves replacing the OS). It also includes more than 150 new features, including Copilot in Windows, already available in some 22H2 environments.

Changes specific to “Version 23H2” include replacing the taskbar chat function with the free version of “Microsoft Teams.” The free version of Teams has been pinned to the taskbar and allows you to chat, make audio calls, and video meetings with friends in just a few clicks, as well as a mini mode similar to the old chat feature. You can also enjoy games with your family and friends through Xbox Game Bar.

By the way, the service period for “Version 23H2” is 24 months for the Home / Pro edition and 36 months for the Enterprise / Education edition.

The upgrade offer will be expanded in stages. Note that it may take some time to become eligible. Interested users can go to the Update & Security > Windows Update page in the Settings app, turn on the “Get the latest updates as soon as they’re available” option, and manually select Click the button[Gwirio]. If your device is eligible for an upgrade, you will be prompted to download and install the “Feature Update for Windows 11, Version 23H2.”

Let’s check it again later. If you can’t wait, you can also upgrade using an installation assistant, a media creation tool, or an ISO image file. However, note that it will take some time to download the entire OS.
