The Democratic Party of Korea argued that the People’s Power lawmaker Cho Myung-hee, who was assigned to the National Assembly’s Land, Infrastructure and Transport Committee, should resign as there could be a conflict of interest.
Democratic Party lawmaker Jang Cheol-min said in a speech at the general meeting of the LCC today, “The possibility of a conflict of interest is very clear. Isn’t it?” he pointed out.
Rep. Lee So-young also said, “There is a lot of distrust in the National Assembly and politics, but it is inappropriate and unfortunate just to raise suspicions that a member of the National Assembly is acting for personal gain.” It is difficult to understand the process of being assigned,” he added.
In response to this, Rep. Cho Myung-hee of People’s Strength explained, “I came to the National Land Commission in search of my major, and I am not a businessperson for a living either.”
