Authorities have identified Vance L. Boelter, 57, as the suspect in the recent Minnesota shootings that have heightened concerns about political violence. The suspect allegedly posed as a police officer,even modifying a vehicle to resemble a police car,according to officials.
The FBI offered a reward of up to $50,000 for facts leading to Boelter’s arrest. They circulated a photo of Boelter wearing a tan cowboy hat, seeking public assistance in locating him.More than 100 law enforcement officers, including SWAT teams, searched the area, acting on over 400 tips from the public, said superintendent Evans.

The shootings have occurred against a backdrop of increasing political tensions and attacks on political figures nationwide. Twin Cities residents mourned as lawmakers expressed their concern over the violence.
A memorial of flowers and American flags was placed at the Minnesota State Capitol, alongside a photo of the hortmans, with messages of remembrance.
Pam Stein, who brought flowers to the memorial, described hortman as “the real unsung hero of Minnesota government.”
No details on motive
Authorities have not yet released details regarding a motive for the shootings. Though, a list of about 70 names, including prominent state and federal lawmakers, community leaders, and abortion rights advocates, was found in the suspect’s vehicle. The writings were described as more of a notebook than a political manifesto, according to Evans.

The suspect, Boelter, is a former political appointee. On the morning of the shootings, he sent text messages to friends apologizing for his actions, stating, “I’m going to be gone for a while. May be dead shortly, so I just wont to let you know I love you guys both and I wish it hadn’t gone this way … I’m sorry for all the trouble this has caused.”
