The Miss USA and Miss Teen USA finals will no longer air on The CW network, according to a spokesperson for the broadcaster, upending the pageant’s television schedule just days before the events are set to take place on August 26 and 27.
According to a statement provided to Business Insider on Thursday, The CW decided to forego the upcoming broadcasts after careful consideration and conversations with the Miss USA Organization. A spokesperson for The CW stated that the network wishes the organization and all of this year’s contestants well in the competition. The finals are scheduled to take place at the Adrienne Arsht Center in Miami.
Streaming Plans and Contractual Issues
Once the network pulled out, a Miss USA representative informed Business Insider that viewers can catch the pageant on the Queen Beauty Network. The platform focuses on the pageant, fashion, and beauty industries, and previously hosted the broadcast in 2025. Audrey Eckert was crowned Miss USA in 2025.
The Miss USA Organization also addressed the change in an Instagram story. According to the organization, two weeks prior to the announcement, a contractual issue was identified with production arrangements that could not be resolved within the necessary timeframe. The organization stated that its team worked diligently to explore options allowing for a live broadcast on The CW, but ultimately, they were unable to reach mutually agreeable terms for this year’s event. Expressing appreciation for its partnership with The CW, the organization also noted that it remains receptive to future collaborations.
Background on The CW Partnership and Recent History
In June, Miss USA CEO and president Thom Brodeur made the prior announcement that the pageant had secured a fresh agreement with The CW. This agreement was intended to mark a return to cable for the pageant, which has seen leadership change hands three times since 2020 alongside several highly publicized scandals.
Back in April 2024, The CW network entered into a three-year agreement with Laylah Rose, who was CEO at the time. A month later, Miss USA 2023 Noelia Voigt and Miss Teen USA UmaSofia Srivastava relinquished their titles in a first for the pageant’s 70-plus-year history, stating they had been bullied by Rose, who denied the allegations. Miss USA has not been on television since the 2024 pageant.
Miss USA 2024 took place in August 2024 and aired on The CW as scheduled. However, in 2025, the network confirmed to Business Insider that it had no plans to air that year’s pageant, marking the first time Miss USA had not been televised since 1965. Thom Brodeur replaced Rose in September 2025 and expressed enthusiasm about returning the pageant to television before the latest agreement unraveled.
