Mob of angry farmers wanted to storm the ferry

During a visit to Schlüttsiel in Schleswig-Holstein, Economics Minister Robert Habeck was received by numerous protesting farmers. 30 protesters tried to get on his ferry.

When Federal Economics Minister Robert Habeck arrived on a ferry at the Schleswig-Holstein village of Schlüttsiel, he was already expected. Several hundred farmers came to receive the minister, writes the “Schleswig-Holsteinische Zeitung” (SHZ). The farmers had heard rumors of an alleged civil dialogue, but according to a spokesman for Habeck, such a dialogue was not planned.

Habeck offered the farmers to send three representatives on the ferry, but they refused. Instead, they asked the Vice-Chancellor to come to them from the ferry.

However, Habeck’s bodyguards rejected this with reference to the security situation, writes the SHZ. Thirty demonstrators then tried to storm the ship and get to Habeck. The police had to intervene and only then could the ferry leave again.
