Mohamed Salah Rejects Al-Ittihad Offer as Liverpool Manager Urges FIFA and UEFA for Transfer Window Solution

Liverpool Strikers Mohamed Salah and Son Heung-min on the Radar of Saudi Arabian Club

The impressive performances of Mohamed Salah from Liverpool and Son Heung-min from Tottenham Hotspur have not gone unnoticed by Saudi Arabian club Al-Ittihad. In a recent report by ESPN, it was revealed that the club is willing to make a massive investment of 300 million euros in order to secure the services of Salah. The transfer fee alone is said to be a staggering 100 million euros, with the total deal amounting to 200 million euros over a three-year period.

However, in a recent statement, Liverpool made it clear that they intend to reject any potential offer from Al-Ittihad for Salah. ESPN reported on the 25th that the English club, while aware of the Saudi club’s interest, has yet to receive any formal or unofficial offer. Liverpool seems determined to hold onto their star player and are prepared to turn down any bid that may come their way.

Earlier reports from Sports Zone had suggested that Salah had already agreed to a three-year deal with Al-Ittihad worth around £189 million. However, David Ornstein of the Athletic has since stated that it remains uncertain whether a deal of such magnitude will actually materialize.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has expressed his concerns regarding the indiscriminate recruitment war in Saudi Arabia. He has called on FIFA and UEFA to find a solution and close the Saudi transfer window early, as it currently extends beyond Europe’s deadline of September 20th.

Salah’s former teammate Fabinho recently made a move to Al-Ittihad for a fee of £40 million, while Jordan Henderson transferred to RT Park. In addition, Roberto Firmino, whose contract with Liverpool has expired, has signed a three-year deal with Al-Ahly.

Salah, who earns a weekly wage of £350,000 at Liverpool, signed a new three-year deal with the club last year. Fans eagerly await to see if Son Heung-min will follow suit and forcefully make a move to Saudi Arabia, despite his previous refusal.
