Monsoon has reached Kerala; Chance of heavy rain; Warning in 10 areas; Kozhikode Orange Alert

Thiruvananthapuram: The Central Meteorological Department has informed that monsoon has reached Kerala. Monsoon reached the state three days later than expected. The weather has also warned that there is a chance of isolated heavy rain in the state.

There is a warning that there is a possibility of heavy rain in ten areas. An orange alert has been issued in Kozhikode district. A yellow alert has also been issued in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Idukki, Malappuram and Kannur districts.

Cyclone Biporjoy formed in the Arabian Sea and intensified into a super cyclone. It is positioned as a super cyclone over the Middle East Arabian Sea. Biporjoy, which will regain strength in the next 48 hours, is likely to move in a north-northwest direction for the next 3 days, the Central Meteorological Department said.
