Mt Maunganui Surf Lifesaving Club Red-stickered after Landslide
The Mt Maunganui Surf Lifesaving Club building has been red-stickered following last week’s deadly landslide, joining three other structures on Adams Ave with similar notices issued under the Civil Defense Emergency Management Act.
Tauranga City Council emergency controller Tom McEntyre clarified that a red placard does not automatically necessitate demolition.
The landslide, wich occurred last week, resulted in fatalities and prompted a large community response. Hundreds gathered to remember the victims earlier this week.
