Multiple Asteroids to Pass Close to Earth this Week, Says NASA

Five asteroids are expected to pass close to Earth within five days of this week, according to NASA. Despite their proximity, these asteroids pose no threat to our planet.

The first asteroid, measuring 18 meters in size, is comparable to the dimensions of a house. It will come within a distance of approximately 5.11 million kilometers from Earth.

On the 8th, two asteroids, measuring 25 meters and 8 meters respectively, will pass by the Earth at a distance ranging from 4.07 million to 5.72 million kilometers. These asteroids are equivalent in size to a plane and a bus respectively.

Similarly, on the 10th, two more asteroids will come close to Earth. The first of the two is 52 meters in size, while the second is 21 meters. The former will approach Earth at a distance of 1.52 million kilometers.

NASA actively monitors asteroids that approach within 7.5 million kilometers, approximately 19.5 times the average distance between the Earth and the Moon (385,000 kilometers). However, asteroids measuring less than 150 meters are not considered to pose any potential danger, even within this radius.

In the past 30 days, NASA has reported three instances of asteroids passing closer to Earth than the Moon.

As the scale and frequency of these close encounters increase, the importance of tracking and studying asteroids becomes evident. By keeping a close eye on these celestial objects, scientists can gather valuable information about our solar system and potentially detect any potential threats.

Five asteroids will pass close to Earth within five days of this week, but no threat is expected, NASA said yesterday local time.

According to NASA, 5 asteroids are expected to pass by Earth by the 10th.

The first approaching asteroid is 18 m, the size of a house, and is close to a distance of 5.11 million km from Earth.

On the 8th, two asteroids, 25m, the size of a plane and 8m, the size of a bus, pass the Earth at a distance of 4.07 million to 5.72 million km.

The sizes of the two asteroids that will come close on the 10th are 52m and 21m, respectively.

One of these approaches the Earth 1.52 million km.

NASA monitors asteroids that approach Earth within 7.5 million km, which is 19.5 times the average distance between Earth and the Moon, which is 385,000 km.

However, even within this distance, if the size of the asteroid does not exceed 150 m, it is not considered to be of any potential danger.

NASA says three asteroids have passed Earth closer than the moon in the past 30 days.
