(LOS ANGELES = Yonhap News) Correspondent Yoon-seop Jeong = Tesla CEO Elon Musk attacked Mark Zuckerberg, who heads Facebook’s parent company Metaplatform, while attempting to take over Twitter, an American social media company.

Market Insider, an American economic media, reported on the 15th (local time) that Musk criticized Zuckerberg’s shareholding structure by comparing him to Louis XIV, the tyrant who established an absolute monarchy in France.

Musk, who has over 80 million followers, was asked if there would be a conflict of interest if he took over Twitter at a global lecture platform TED event held in Vancouver, Canada the day before.

Musk suddenly summoned Zuckerberg to respond.

“In terms of social media ownership, Zuckerberg owns Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp,” he said.

He also claimed that if he took over Twitter, “it won’t happen.”

According to Insider, Zuckerberg owns 55% of Facebook’s voting stock.

Facebook gives some executives, including Zuckerberg, differential voting rights with 10 votes per share.

However, Insider pointed out that Musk has as much influence over Tesla as Zuckerberg.

Musk is the largest individual shareholder with a 17% stake in Tesla.

In particular, a two-thirds majority is required for major issues affecting Tesla’s management to pass the general meeting of shareholders, and Musk’s stake gives him the power to de facto veto, Insider said.
