Myra Jo Parrish, a 67-year-old resident of Braidwood, Illinois, and formerly of Joliet, Illinois, died on the morning of Sunday, October 4, 2026, at The Parc Joliet.

Early Life and Marriage in Will County

Born in Joliet on June 6, 1959, Myra Jo was the daughter of William Elbert “Ebb” and Virginia “Ruth” (Forren) Wickline. She grew up in Joliet and graduated from Joliet Central High School with the Class of 1977. Following her graduation, she took a job at Folger Adam. There, she met James Robert “Bob” Parrish. The two married on April 18, 1981, building a home together before eventually settling in Braidwood in 1990.

Myra Focused on Family and School Portrait Work

Alongside her life as a wife and mother, Myra worked for Lifetouch, traveling across school districts in five counties to capture school-day portraits. Her relatives noted that family remained the central focus of her life. She actively chaperoned field trips when her children were young and later attended events for her grandchildren, earning the affectionate family nickname “Grandmoo.” She also maintained a flower garden, decorated extensively for Christmas, baked meals praised by her relatives, and enjoyed television programs like Little House on the Prairie alongside NASCAR races and the Kentucky Derby.
