NBA Results & Standings: Jokic’s Triple-Double Not Enough, European Players Shine

NBA Roundup: Cavaliers Edge Nuggets, Trail Blazers Shine

The Cleveland Cavaliers narrowly defeated the Denver Nuggets 119-117 on Monday night, despite a stellar performance by Nikola Jokić, who recorded his 183rd career triple-double. The loss marked Denver’s fourth in their last five games, dropping their record to 34-20 and placing them third in the Western Conference standings.

Jokić finished with 22 points, 14 rebounds, and 11 assists, shooting 6-of-11 from the field. Despite his impressive stat line, the Nuggets couldn’t secure the win.

Elsewhere in the league, the Portland Trail Blazers enjoyed a dominant 135-118 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers, fueled by strong performances from Deni Avdija and Toumani Camara. Camara led all scorers with 30 points, while Avdija nearly achieved a triple-double, contributing 26 points, 10 rebounds, and eight assists.

In Florida, the Miami Heat suffered a close 115-111 defeat at the hands of the Utah Jazz. Lauri Markkanen led the Jazz with 17 points and eight rebounds, supported by Jusuf Nurkić’s 10 points and 16 rebounds. For the Heat, Kasparas Jakucionis scored 20 points, with Simone Fontecchio adding nine points and five rebounds.

The Chicago Bulls fell to the Brooklyn Nets 123-115 on the road. Matas Buzelis scored 18 points for Chicago, while Guerschon Yabusele added three points and two rebounds. Nolan Traoré impressed for Brooklyn with a double-double of 13 points and 13 assists, and Ben Saraf contributed three points and three assists.

The Minnesota Timberwolves defeated the Atlanta Hawks 138-116, with Rudy Gobert scoring 18 points and grabbing six rebounds. In another game, Maxime Raynaud recorded a double-double with 21 points and 19 rebounds in the Sacramento Kings’ 120-94 loss to the New Orleans Pelicans. Karlo Matković added 12 points and nine rebounds for the Pelicans.

Despite the absence of Giannis Antetokounmpo, the Milwaukee Bucks were defeated by the Orlando Magic 118-99. Moritz and Franz Wagner each scored 14 points for the Magic.

Isaiah Hartenstein contributed 10 points, nine rebounds, and six assists in the Oklahoma City Thunder’s 119-110 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers, who were without Luka Dončić due to injury.
