New Street Named After Icon on the Las Vegas Strip

Las Vegas officials honored musician Bruno Mars on April 10, 2026, with a parade along the Las Vegas Strip, the renaming of a city street and the official proclamation of Bruno Mars Day.

The celebrations took place on April 10, 2026, coinciding with the start of Mars’ world tour, titled The Romantic Tour, which kicked off at Allegiant Stadium. This represents the artist’s first tour since the 24K Magic Tour concluded in 2018.

Street Renaming and Official Proclamation

As part of the honors, Clark County officials announced that Park Avenue has been renamed Bruno Mars Drive. The street is located on the Las Vegas Strip between Park MGM and New York-New York.

Clark County Commissioner Jim Gibson stated that the honor is reserved for entertainers with whom the city maintains a special relationship. Mars joins a small group of performers recognized with street names on the Las Vegas Boulevard, including Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, and Sammy Davis Jr.

During a ceremony held at Toshiba Plaza, Clark County officials declared April 10, 2026, as Bruno Mars Day. Commissioner Gibson awarded Mars a special proclamation and a key to the Las Vegas Strip, noting that the artist has served as a long-time ambassador for the valley.

Parade Procession

The festivities included a parade that traveled along the north side of Bellagio on Las Vegas Boulevard. The procession passed the Fountains of Bellagio, ARIA, The Cosmopolitan, and Park MGM before arriving at Toshiba Plaza in front of T-Mobile Arena at approximately 1:30 p.m. On April 10, 2026.

The parade featured a wide array of participants and themed displays, including:

• A pink convertible carrying Bruno Mars and showgirls
• Anderson .Paak in a convertible
• The Hooligans
• A Bruno Mars x Hello Kitty themed bus
• A massive Elvis float accompanied by a troupe of Elvis impersonators
• Buses featuring the Vegas Golden Knights and the Raiderettes
• Mariachi bands, a marching band, a drum cadre, and various musicians
• Classic cars and trucks

Official Recognition and Local Impact

Nevada Governor Joe Lombardo attended the event at Toshiba Plaza, where he presented Mars with a ceremonial state flag. Governor Lombardo thanked the artist for choosing Las Vegas as the starting location for his new world tour.

Bill Hornbuckle, the president and CEO of MGM Resorts International, spoke regarding Mars’ influence on the city, describing him as a local hero and stating that Everyday here is Bruno Mars Day in Las Vegas.

The recognition highlights Mars’ established ties to the city, including his residency at Dolby Live at Park MGM. Following the ceremony, Mars expressed gratitude to the city and the crowd. He also shared a text message from his father that encouraged him to remain humble.

The event served as the official kickoff for The Romantic Tour, marking the artist’s return to global touring after a multi-year hiatus from the road.
