Microsoft Unveils New Surface Devices and Smart Headphones

Microsoft has revealed its latest devices, including a new surface desktop, the Surface Studio 2, and its first smart headphones, the Surface Headphones. The company also announced updates too its Surface Pro and surface Laptop lines, aiming to boost productivity and creativity for users.
The Surface Studio 2, a successor to the original Surface desktop, features a 28-inch display and USB-C support. Microsoft touts it as the fastest Surface device to date, offering improved graphics performance. Pre-orders are now open, with a starting price of $3,499.
The surface Headphones, priced at $349, incorporate adjustable noise cancellation and automatic pause/play functionality. Microsoft’s voice assistant, Cortana, is integrated, enabling users to manage emails and initiate conference calls. The headphones are slated for release later this year.
Microsoft says the Surface Pro 6 is 67% faster than its previous iteration while maintaining a battery life of up to 13.5 hours. The device offers versatile laptop, studio, and tablet modes and is available in black and platinum, starting at $899.
The Surface Laptop 2, starting at $999, features faster and quieter typing, along with a battery life of up to 14.5 hours, according to microsoft.It is indeed reportedly 85% faster than its predecessor and introduces a new black color option,in addition to burgundy,platinum,and blue.
Yusuf Mehdi, Microsoft’s corporate VP of modern life and devices, said devices are increasingly integrated into all aspects of life. “We build these things to appeal for your work and personal life,” Mehdi told CNN.
Microsoft also introduced the Windows 10 October 2018 Update, emphasizing productivity. The update includes features like the Your Phone App, which integrates texts and photos from Android phones to PCs, and To-Do list integration with Outlook.com.
