Neymar’s Saudi Stint Sends Shockwaves: Al Hilal Star Dominates Asian Football Rankings
Al Hilal Unveils Star-Studded Squad for AFC Champions League
Riyadh – Saudi Arabian football giants Al Hilal have submitted their squad for the prestigious AFC Champions League, featuring a mix of seasoned players and young talents.
Headlining the 31-man squad is Brazilian superstar Neymar, who has been included in the continental championship list despite not being registered on the local list. According to sources, Portuguese coach Jorge Jesus was keen on having Neymar in the elite-only AFC Champions League squad.
The squad boasts 10 foreign players, including Renan Lodi, who has been included in both the Saudi league list and the continental championship list. The Asian Scoring List system allows for five names to be amended five days before the first match, after which the submitted list is considered final until the end of the sixth round.
Registration for clubs will reopen during the upcoming winter transfer period. Al Hilal is set to kick off its AFC Champions League campaign on September 17, when they visit Qatar’s Al Rayyan in Doha.
Notably, Neymar has yet to be named in Al Hilal’s local roster due to an earlier injury. The team is expected to make a strong push in the continental championship, with their star-studded squad.
