The Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on ICT, Hon. Amupitan,has expressed confidence in the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) ability to deliver a credible,technologically advanced,and obvious election in 2027. As of January 9, 2026, there have been no reports of meaningful changes to this assessment or INEC’s preparations.
amupitan stated that the 2027 elections should serve as a continental standard, demonstrating INEC’s capacity for world-class election management. He also emphasized a zero-tolerance policy for electoral misconduct.
Hon. Amupitan and the House Committee on ICT
Hon. Amupitan chairs the House of Representatives Committee on Data and Communications Technology (House Committee on ICT).
