Now Atreus serves one service as well, God of War Ragnarok.

On November 9th, God of War Ragnarok will be released. The sequel to God of War, released in 2018, the main story is the journey of Kratos and his son Atreus.

Faced with fate, Kratos, who fought a war with the gods in Norse mythology, becomes a clumsy father and accepts his fate. A new narrative accompanies Atreus, who has grown up based on the previous mini-work, and Kratos, who is facing fate.

Like its predecessor, God of War Ragnarok is set in Norse mythology, so gods with imperfect personalities and hostile giants who face the gods will appear and the foretold end will come. Here, at the 2021 PlayStation Showcase, the production team announced that they would finally end the Norse mythology with God of War Ragnarok, so it seems that the ending is a story of dealing with the Norse gods.

The Rich Man’s Journey Against Ragnarok

God of War Ragnarok will greatly improve the enemy monster types and mini-boss replay problems identified in the previous work. In fact, the production team said that you will be able to explore 9 areas of the world in this work and see enemies that fit each region. Here, Atreus has grown to be able to provide aggressive and powerful support. Kratos still shows merciless attacks on gods and monsters.

New skills, enemies, and a new area ‘Svart Alfaheim’ will also appear. Because the world scene is set in winter, unlike the previous work where he rode a boat, he travels on a wolf sled. Not only the background, but also Atreus growing up as a teenager, worrying about his father’s well-being and experiencing conflict. In particular, the story trailer includes the scene where the fight between Thor and Kratos, which fans have been waiting for, unfolds, and you can enjoy the exciting action between Thor’s Leviathan and Thor’s Mjölnir.

challenging adventure elements

The production team divided gamers into assassin type, adventure type, achievement type, and social type according to their style, and God of War Ragnarok was created to satisfy both assassin type and adventure type gamers. In particular, in the case of adventure, it is full of semi-open world adventure elements tried from the previous work, breaking away from the linear development of the previously released God of War trilogy. This work is also designed to reverse the journey by creating an unreachable section for the adventurous player.

Killing players in particular will appreciate the lively action. The action of Atreus, who shows a more mature image, as well as Kratos, who is still strong as before and now, is enough to satisfy the players who love action.

New weapons and magic

In this work, a large number of new weapons will appear, and you can create new weapons by enchanting existing weapons. For example, by enchanting Kratos’ primary weapon, the Leviathan axe, to create a new performance. In addition, unlike the previous work, Blade of Chaos can be used in the early stages, and colorful action is also added. Also appeared a new shield that was not in the previous work. You can use this shield to hit the ground and send enemies flying.

Eric Williams, Game Director, said, “In the first part, we tried to create a battle that was the setting for the story. In this regard, some sculptures expressed a story through metaphor,” he explained, emphasizing the importance of the story in this work.

The game will be released on November 9th and will be released for PS4 and PS5. If you buy the PS4 Standard Edition for 69,800 won, you will have to pay an upgrade fee of 10,000 won to enjoy it on the PS5. If you buy the Collector’s Edition, Jotun Edition, or Digital Deluxe Edition, both PS4/5 versions are provided. The Collector’s Edition is 228,000 won, the Yotun Edition is 288,000 won, and the Digital Deluxe Edition is 89,800 won.

As for the PC release, nothing has been said yet, but since Sony has announced that it will continue to release its games on PC, it’s worth looking forward to after a certain amount of time has passed. In the case of the previous game, it took around 4 years from PS4 release to PC release, but in the case of this work, the gap is expected to be shorter than that.
