OADEL municipal fair: The annex of the town hall of the commune Golfe 1 as an attraction

Products on display

The municipal fair of local products of the Organization for Food and Local Development (OADEL) was in full swing this Friday and for 3 days on the esplanade of the Gulf 1 town hall annex.

Initiated by OADEL and its partners, the municipal fair is part of the dynamic of promoting the consumption of local products and as part of the Transition of Agricultural and Food Systems in the Territories (TERSAA) project.

This fair is a framework for raising awareness among both the population and municipal authorities about the health benefits of local products.

“The municipal fair aims to promote local products in the municipalities. These fairs allow us to show these products to local elected officials and the population of the different municipalities in order to give them more visibility. We have juices, liqueurs, rice, flours for porridge and many other products on display on site,” said Nadège Eya Tougan (TERSAA project manager at the NGO OADEL).

This fair also aims to raise awareness of the local products distribution center “BoBar Distribution” specializing in the wholesale and retail sales of local products.

“This OADEL initiative is beneficial for all municipalities. OADEL has taken it upon itself to make us aware of consuming local products which give us more health than imported products. I invite us as Togolese to consume our local products,” said Kofi Fofo Boko (1st deputy mayor of the Gulf 1 commune).

It should be noted that the municipal fair is on its 6th stage in Gulf 1 after having settled in Gulf 7, Agoè Nyivé 1, 2, 3 and Gulf 2.

Remember that the NGO OADEL has been carrying out actions since 2003 to promote the consumption of local products. FIN
