The Prime Minister’s decision came today to make Sunday, May 5, 2024, an official holiday, on the occasion of Labor Day, instead of Wednesday, May 1.

The Labor Day and Sham El-Nessim holidays coincide with the date of Resurrection Day 2024 in Egypt, where Christians celebrate Easter on Sunday, May 5, followed by the Sham El-Nessim holiday on Monday, May 6. This means that Christian workers’ leave is 5 days, starting from Thursday, May 2 until Monday, May 6. .

Sham El Nessim vacation after the Prime Minister’s decision:

Dr. Mostafa Madbouly announced that Monday, May 6, 2024, is an official holiday, on the occasion of Sham El Nessim.

The two decisions stipulated that the two days of leave should be paid for workers in ministries, government departments, public bodies, local administration units, public sector companies, public business sector companies, and the private sector.

When is the Sinai Liberation Day holiday?

The Sinai Liberation Day holiday is the next official holiday in the month of April, to celebrate the anniversary of the liberation of Sinai.
