Yambu: The Spokesperson of the National Center for Environmental Compliance Monitoring, Abdullah Al-Mutairi, confirmed that the oil spill and the resulting air pollution at the Yambu King Fahd Commercial Port on the 1st of this month have been brought under management.

Air, sea and coastal surveillance of the area continues. Monitoring using the latest remote sensing techniques is also done via satellite. Center officials said they received a report from the Yambu Commercial Port Authority about the oil spill and air pollution last Saturday at 11 am. Immediately, the Environmental Protection Department of the Yambu Royal Commission and various security departments jointly took precautionary measures.

Emergency recovery measures were taken under the leadership of the Director General of the Center Department in Madinah, Engineer Umar bin Muhammad Taha. The decision was made possible with the help of the Ministry of Energy, Ministry of Industries and Mineral Resources, Border Guard, Aviation Security and Desalination, Yambu Municipality and Madina Municipality security units and various private agencies.
