Professional baseball Hanwha Eagles and KT Wiz made a one-to-one trade between outfielder Siwon Lee (26, former Lee Dong-hoon) and right-handed pitcher Ryu Hee-woon (27).

The two clubs announced the trade in a press release on the 18th.

Ryu Hee-woon is KT’s number 1 player who joined kt in 2013 as the first overall priority.

Ryu Hee-woon, who was the first to wear a kt jersey after receiving a down payment of 320 million won, did not grow to the level expected.

After joining the army, he underwent elbow ligament splicing (Tommy John surgery) and focused on rehabilitation.

He played 74 games until this year and was sluggish with a 5-8, 1 hold ERA of 7.70.

He made eight appearances this season as well, recording one loss and an ERA of 14.29.

Ryu Hee-woon is rated as having a good ball, but his control always hindered him.

Hanwha intends to use Ryu Hee-woon, who has a good standing, as a bullpen resource.

The Hanwha Club announced, “We made a trade to increase the number of people available for the bullpen while clearing up overlapping positions within the team.”

Hee-Woon Ryu is also from Cheonan Bukil High School, his hometown.

Siwon Lee joined Hanwha in 2016 and batted 0.209 in 196 games.

In 2020 and 2021, he was only batting 10%, and this season he did not step on the first team stage even once.

However, Siwon Lee is evaluated as having a competitive edge with high-level defense and quick feet.

With Cho Yong-ho, Bae Jeong-dae, Kim Min-hyuk, and Anthony Alford in the first team outfield, kt is expected to use Si-won Lee as a defense or counter-runner agent.
