Pele is ‘in the yard’ again today; Tomorrow’s culture Pele is back in the ‘playground’ today; Burial is tomorrow

Sao Paulo: The body of legendary soccer player Pele will be laid to rest today at Santos Club’s Vila Belmiro Stadium. Fans will have the opportunity to pay their last respects to Pele’s body at the stadium of the Santos club that made Pele a world-famous star. Funeral services will be held from 10 am local time on Monday until 10 am on Tuesday.

Burial will be at the Necropole Ecumenica Cemetery in Santos on Tuesday. After 10am on Tuesday, the body will be taken to the cemetery in a procession through the streets of Santos. and pass in front of Pele’s house. Centenarian Pele’s mother lives in this house. Pele’s mother, Celeste, is resting at home due to complications from old age.

Preparations had already been completed for the public display of the body at the Santos stadium. The body is currently at the Albert Einstein Hospital in Sao Paulo. It will be delivered to the stadium in the morning.

Necropole Ecumenica, a 14-story cemetery where burials take place, is a cemetery listed in the Guinness Book of World Records. It has a garden and a water fountain. Santos Stadium can be seen from the top floor. Only close relatives will attend Pele’s funeral. There are three days of mourning in Brazil.
