An opinion poll released on the 26th shows that more than half of the respondents said that Han Dong-hoon, chairman of the Emergency Response Committee of the People’s Power Party, is carrying out his duties as party leader well.

From the 23rd to the 25th, Gallup Korea asked 1,001 people over the age of 18 across the country: “Is President Han performing his role well?” and 52% responded that they were doing well. The negative rating was 40%.

In a previous Gallup Korea poll, former CEO Lee Jun-seok’s positive rating was 37%, while former CEO Kim Ki-hyun’s was in the low 20s.

Gallup Korea explained: “President Han received a better rating than previous party leaders such as Kim Ki-hyun and Lee Jun-seok, and based on the positivity rate alone, the rating is similar to that of the chairman of the emergency of the Saenuri Park Geun -hi party in March 2012.” He went on to say, “About 70% of moderates and independents have a negative evaluation of President Yoon Seok-yeol, but President Han’s approval and disapproval were equally divided, about 40% each.”

In March 2012, then-President of the Party Emergency Committee Saenuri Park Geun-hye’s positive rating was 52%. This is the same positive rating rate as President Han in this survey.

President Han said that positive ratings were higher than negative ones in all regions except Gwangju and Jeolla. By age group, the positive rating rate was highest among those in their 70s or older (73%), those in their 60s (65%), and those aged 18 to 29 (53%).

89% of People Power Party supporters rated President Han as doing a good job. The moderates sided with 45% positive and 43% negative.

Representative Lee had a higher rate of negative ratings in other regions except Gwangju and Jeolla. The positive rating rate among Democratic Party supporters was 69%, up slightly from 60% in November last year.

Typically, 57% of progressives responded that Rep. Lee is “doing a good job.” Among moderates, 37% responded positively and 55% responded negatively.
