Kochi: The High Court has rejected a petition filed by the Lakshadweep government against new governance reforms. The order was passed by a division bench headed by the Chief Justice. The petition questioning the closure of the dairy farm and the revision of the school lunch menu has been rejected. The government had said it was a policy decision and the court had no jurisdiction to intervene. Dairy farm cannot be run at a loss. The only recommendation is to provide nutritious food in schools. The government has said it does not necessarily want beef. The court accepted these arguments.

Earlier, a division bench of the Kerala High Court had rejected a petition filed by KPCC secretary Noushad Ali alleging that the administrator’s actions had damaged the island’s heritage and culture. The court ruled that only a draft of the administrative reform proposal was in place.
