[메디칼업저버 신형주 기자] Philips participated in the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA 2023) held in Chicago, USA from November 26 to November 30, and presented various radiology solutions.

In particular, solutions that improve workflow using AI technology attracted attention because they can improve the work efficiency of medical staff and manage patients more intensively.

45% of radiology medical staff worldwide experience burnout symptoms.
Among these, radiologists are constantly looking for solutions to improve workflow and aid in faster and more accurate diagnosis.

At this RSNA, Philips presented an ultrasound system that strengthens the diagnostic capabilities of radiology and improves workflow, the MR 7700 system with XP gradients, which has a gradient magnetic field strength that is 45% higher than the company’s gradient magnetic field strength. current model, and the MR 7700 system compared to the current Philips MR system Introduced a mobile MRI (unlicensed product in Korea) that reduces helium consumption to 0.5%, and a cloud-based solution (unlicensed product in Korea) is equipped with AI functions that improve the work efficiency of radiologists.

In addition, a ‘Care means the world’ campaign video was released, designed with the aim of realizing a sustainable medical environment, emphasizing that efforts to protect the environment are essential for people’s healthy lives.

Bert van Meurs, Head of Philips Precision Diagnosis and Image Guided Therapy Business Division, said, “At this RSNA, we focused on closely understanding the needs of medical staff and delivering solutions that more faithfully support the role of radiology and make the best workflow.” We want to create a medical environment where medical staff can invest more attention and time on patients based on solutions that increase the diagnostic capabilities and work efficiency of the radiology department,” he said.

In order to reduce the workload of radiology medical staff, an ultrasound solution has also been introduced that intuitively and simplifies the imaging examination process.

The ultrasound EPIQ Elite 10.0 and Affiniti introduced by Philips has several functions that automate the examination process, contributing to medical staff diagnosing patients faster and faster.

In particular, Philips’ latest high-end ultrasound products have improved the workflow by strengthening the AutoSCAN function that produces high-resolution images.

The ‘MR 7700’ on display at this RSNA booth applies the newly designed XP gradient and deep learning-based AI reconstruction technique (SmartSpeed ), resulting in time inspect up to 3 times faster based on the same image quality in all Image inspection areas. processing is possible with high resolution that is up to 65% improved based on inspection time.

The ‘MR 7700’ system is equipped with a multi-nuclei test solution that could not be implemented in existing MR equipment.
This solution provides a specialized platform capable of detecting signals from six different atoms, including hydrogen, phosphorus (31P), carbon (13C), sodium (23Na), fluorine (19F), and xenon (129Xe) atoms. .

In addition, BlueSeal MR Mobile was displayed in a mobile booth in the RSNA exhibition hall.
Blue Seal Magnet uses the latest Philips technology and a completely sealed magnet.
Compared to regular magnets, it is environmentally friendly as it uses only 7L of helium, and its weight is also 900kg lighter than the current Philips magnet.

The advantage of this system is that there is no need for a ventilation pipe, which allows MR tests regardless of location. More than 600 MRI scanners equipped with Philips BlueSeal magnet technology have been installed worldwide, saving more than 1.5 million liters of helium since 2018.
The product is not yet approved in Korea.

Philips HealthSuite Imaging is a cloud-based medical image storage and transfer system from Philips Vue PACS that increases the operational efficiency of radiologists and improves patient care.

Health Suite Imaging provides rapid remote access for diagnosis and interpretation in a cloud environment, integrated reporting functions, and AI-based workflow enhancement functions.

Philips AI Manager, unveiled at this RSNA, is an AI-based solution that is integrated with the IT infrastructure of medical institutions.
The solution helps radiologists gain more comprehensive analysis and clinical insights by using more than 100 AI applications throughout the clinical interpretation workflow.
These products have not yet been approved in Korea.

Improving the speed and efficiency of diagnosis is an important factor in the entire treatment process.
Philips also presented a digital X-ray solution at this RSNA.
Philips 7000M mobile X-ray Radiography and 7300C stationary X-ray Radiography are designed for fast and efficient treatment of patients.

These products have not yet been approved in Korea.
Philips also unveiled the Azurion 7 B20 model, angiography equipment.

This model has a fast system movement speed and provides a ‘control module’ function which allows all components to be controlled from the table side.
